 UniNet Healthcare Network provides a high standard of credentialing by following National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) guidelines. The Credentialing Committee, which meets monthly, is made up of at least four physicians selected by the Business Management Council and is chaired by Eugene Barone, MD. The Credentialing Committee makes recommendations to the Business Management Council, who then makes recommendations to the UniNet Board of Directors.
When an initial appointment or reappointment application is submitted to UniNet, it is reviewed for completeness and primary source verifications are conducted. Once the application is considered complete, it will be reviewed by the Credentialing Committee. Because of the number of factors involved in the credentialing process, it can take anywhere from one to six months for a physician to become fully credentialed. Once credentialed with UniNet, physicians will undergo recredentialing every two years.
